Kittens - Mississippi

I left work around 4:20ish and Glory called me and said she had just gotten home from work. When she pulled in the driveway there was a grayish pit bull in our front yard which then walked into our fenced-in back yard. At that point Glory got out of her car and ran into the house through the front door because she was scared of the dog. When she got inside she looked out our back French doors and there were dead kittens strewn all over our back yard ... seven to be exact. Several other kittens and some of our grown cats were high up in trees scared to death. At least two of the little kittens are still way up and scared to come down. At this point (about an hour later), I still have not seen some of my grown cats and a few kittens ... so I have no idea if they are still alive or not. We don’t know exactly how long the dog had been here or how he managed to get the closed gate open ... but he left carnage in his path. By the time I got to the house he was gone. Glory said he did have a “chain-link” collar on, so I know he belongs to someone. Anybody that knows me well knows how much I love raising cats and kittens ... and they ALL are special to me. All my babies over the years have brought so much joy to my life ... sometimes when there wasn’t much otherwise. I know “things happen” ... but this was horrific, and my surviving cats and kittens that are still here at the house right now are traumatized (a few still up high in the trees). I am so sad.
(Forgive me for the pics ... but I want everyone to know what this dog did ... in the city limits where there is a leash law.)

10:45 pm update: The two kittens that were still up in the trees both ended up falling out and are now both hurt
